Yes, it is! Teletherapy has gained an immense amount of popularity since the early 2020s, and many even cite it as their preferred mode of therapy, due to its flexibility, and eliminating barriers of transportation, or distance.
Yes, absolutely. I use HIPAA-compliant platforms like my email, Doxy.me, and secure EHR systems such as Grow Telehealth for all sessions and communication, ensuring your privacy is protected.
What you share stays between us, with a few important exceptions required by law, such as risk of harm to yourself or others. To support your safety, I'll ask for an emergency contact early on, and we will define what "emergency" means specifically for you, so we're both aligned if that situation ever arises.
Since I'm licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, you'll need to be physically located in one of those states for our sessions, even virtually. This applies to any family members joining, too. If you're traveling or temporarily out of state, we'll need to pause meeting until you're back within NJ or PA, as licensing laws don't allow exceptions for virtual care across state lines.
First sessions are so very important. I recognize its not easy to start new, or start over, with a provider. I will inquire what brings you to therapy, and what goals you would like to work towards. If you've been in therapy previously, we will discuss the things that have worked for you in this setting, while taking note of the approaches that may not have been as productive. Then, we will set treatment plan goals, create a personalized meeting schedule, and discuss your progress within each session. We will go at your pace!
If you need to reschedule, doing so 24 hours or more before your appointment is completely free of charge. For shorter notice, I'll first check if I have any openings left that week, if so, we'll simply call it a reschedule. If I don't have availability, or the timing doesn't work for you, a $110 late cancellation fee will apply via credit card. This isn't a policy I enjoy enforcing, but it's standard across the field, since last-minute cancellations are common and this helps protect both my time and income as a provider.
Mon-Fri, 9am to 7pm. Saturday, by appointment only.

Even though I work virtually, it's still a small world, and running into each other at the park, grocery store, or a social event is always a possibility. If that happens, my first instinct will be to not initiate any contact, purely out of respect for your privacy and the confidentiality of our work together. That said, if you'd like to say hello, I'm always happy to respond, the choice is entirely yours. While this kind of random run-in is rare, it is an important question and situation to have boundaries in place for!
To protect your privacy and the confidentiality of our work together, I'm not able to accept friend requests or follow back on personal social media accounts. This isn't personal, it's simply a boundary I hold with all clients to keep our relationship focused and professional.
